Skiing in Mongolia
Getting off piste takes on a different meaning when you become one of the pioneer skiers in Mongolia.
With much of the country covered in snow for five months of the year – the variety of terrain that you can explore on skis feels limitless. What the country lacks in ski lifts it balances with quirky and photogenic ways to gain height. Reach the summit on a camel, yak or perhaps on a horse sled. Reindeer rides are a significantly more comfortable way to reach the slopes than button lifts!
A skiing trip in Mongolia is only for those with an adventurous spirit who are happy to take each day as it comes. We are fortunate enough to have an excellent guide who has skied his whole life in Mongolia. With him and the fact that Mongolia boasts 260 days of sunshine a year, you will have a truly memorable adventure on skis in Mongolia. The après ski is as memorable and unique as the skiing itself. We should perhaps mention that the temperatures tend to be pretty low in the winter months (November to March) with night-time temperatures regularly down to -35°C.
