Best Hotels in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
The arrival of new hotels in Ulaanbaatar in recent years has had a great impact to options and availability in the city. We keep abreast of the changes and personally experience the service in each hotel in order to offer you the best to suit your budget and preferences.
We are thankful to the Shangri-La for raising the bar of the hotels in Ulaanbaatar. As you would expect, the hotel has invested in delivering 5* rooms and service. The rooms are well designed and appointed. The pillow menu stood out as a detail that we were impressed with. The hotel plans to have a swimming pool in 2016.
TUUSHIN BEST WESTERN HOTEL
The location, service and rooms make this the hotel of choice for most of our group journeys. Just off the main square, the Tuushin generous sized room and a great team ready too welcome you back from the countryside or from further afield.
One of our repeat guests has stayed at the Kempinski over a dozen times. He recently said that the hotel might be tired at the edges, but he would not consider staying anywhere else because of the quality of the staff. It seems that they remember his name each time he returns. Impressive. What we will never forget is the standard of the freshly made pastries each morning. Another detail that is worth mentioning is that the rooms have air filters which has become something to have on the tick list if you are coming to Ulaanbaatar in the winter. We would point out that this hotel is located in the East of the city, making it suitable for journeys heading East and less well located if you want to walk to the city centre or are heading West.
This hotel is a prominent feature of the Ulaanbaatar skyline. The blue sail building stands South of the main square (now called Chinggis Square). This is an excellent location making it possible to avoid traffic and walk to most central places. The hotel has great views over the city.
Location, location, location. Just off the main square, we have opted for this hotel for a number of years for our group journeys. There could be no doubt that you were in Mongolia when you entered - as opposed to some 5 star hotels where you could be anywhere in the world. We will be interested to see how the hotel looks after their current refurbishments.
Let us know what really matters to you and we will match you with the best hotel. There are a few others that we use due to their proximity to the airport for instance. Best to have a chat on the phone with us rather than always believe Trip Advisor!
