Gangtey Lodge, Bhutan
The most amazing property, opened in September 2013 by wonderful husband and wife duo Brett and Omar Melzer. Offering visitors a unique and special insight into the beautiful Gangtey Valley the Lodge, with its spectacular setting and sweeping views over the whole valley, acts as a luxurious base for your stay.
The Lodge draws upon the inspiration of the unique and beautiful Bhutanese rural architecture down to the very last detail, from Bhutanese carvings in the floor to lit prayer-wheels in the corridors. Designed by Mary Lou Thomson, each room is beautifully crafted with fire places, stone floors, exposed brick walls, dark wooden beams and furniture dressed in earthy tones.
The food is delicious: fruits, vegetables and herbs are grown in the property's organic garden. Enjoy meals at long, communal tables where you can swap stories with other guests. After a day out exploring the valley you will return to your room to find yummy treats such as salted caramel truffles or roasted almonds. Sit under the stars in the evening with cashmere blankets, outdoor fireplaces and delicious warm cider – this is a hotel that ticks every box, but will exceed all expectations.
We are confident that you will thank us for booking Gangtey Lodge for you...
