Our Favourite Festival Photographs

We are fortunate that many of our guests share their photos and videos with us after their journeys. Here are some of the festivals of Bhutan.

Visitors travel for miles around from remote villages to join the crowds at the celebrations. Everyone dresses in their finest festival clothes and the monastery (dzong) monks don their incredible costumes to perform holy dances. The festivals or tsechus can go on for hours or days culminating with blessings from the Lhama or Head Monk.

If you feel inspired by some of these images then Bhutan is the place for you. The 2019 festival dates can be found here and we can build a trip around one of these festivals for you.

Or join a small group tour that takes in the best Bhutan has to offer and includes a festival – The Bhutanese Epic 2019
