"We were very impressed with Panoramic Journeys' planning and organisation of the trip. You made everything easy for us. Esee and Nyama were brilliant and our stay at your refugio was my high point."

MONGOLIA TEAM

Panoramic Journeys is unusual in that we don't involve a third party. We have been running our own ground operations company within Mongolia for the last decade. We have built a reputation of being the Mongolia experts or specialists because of the team that we have within Mongolia.

GOYO RESTON

GOYOTSETSEG RESTON - Goyo is our Operations Manager for Mongolia. She is an invaluable lynchpin in making sure all things run smoothly on the tours. Her years in the UK, during which she gained a Masters in Tourism, gave her an in-depth understanding of what our clients are after.

TUUL NERGUI

TUULTSETSEG NERGUI - Tuul is our Ulaanbaatar Office Manager. She is key to surviving the everyday bureaucracy of arranging the behind the scenes logistics. Her calming influence and understanding of our needs make her an integral part of our business.

ESMEDEH ALTANGEREL

ESMEDEKH ALTANGEREL - Esee, one of our main and longest-serving guides, hails from Khovsgol Province in Northern Mongolia. Legend has it he was raised in the icy waters of the Delger River by a school of taimen until he was 6 months old, whereupon his herder parents finally took him into their ger and taught him the laws of animal husbandry. He is known in local parts as 'The Voice of the Lake', and anyone who has heard his velvety rendition of 'Jebtsundamba' would instantly know why. He is also no stranger to the restrictive confines of a traditional wrestling outfit - and enjoys challenging our male guests to a bout or two. A country boy through and through, Esee loves nothing more than to be imparting his extensive knowledge of horsemanship, nomadic customs and rural pastoralism to enthralled guests on our journeys throughout Mongolia.

CHINZORIG RADNAABAZAR

CHINZORIG RADNAABAZAR - Chinzo is an integral member of our guiding team, and the brother of our Operations Manager, Goyo. His thirst for knowledge is matched only by his appetite for meat. Strong as an ox, but soft as the underbelly of a cashmere goat, he draws on his vast guiding experience to handle and engage with all ranges of trips and guests - adaptable, dependable, and sensitive to group dynamics and individual needs. He is a wonderful ambassador for Mongolia, and loves nothing more than sharing his love and knowledge of his country with every guest, bringing each trip alive with his passion and enthusiasm.

AKTOLKAN MAKSUM

AKTOLKAN MAKSUM - Agii oversees all of our journeys, expeditions and film shoots out West. Being Mongolian Kazakh, the Altai mountains are where he is most at home, but last summer he took on the challenge of guiding an expedition as they walked 1000kilometres across the Gobi Desert. Nothing is too much trouble for Agi - he is one of those rare gems who brings that extra something magical to any guest's enjoyment of a trip. Always on the lookout for ways to exceed expectations, he has the eyes of an eagle and the flexibility of a mountain goat, and extends to all our guests a welcome as warm as a marmot pelt.

TUDEVEE BATTULGA

TUDEVANCHIG BATTULGA - Tudevee is one of our most experienced and trusted guides. During his decade or so in the travel industry in Mongolia, he has explored most regions of the country. He is a keen ornithologist, photographer and mountain leader. He thrives off the mental and physical challenges of leading a new trip or being involved in a big expedition - his forethought and pro-active nature shine through.

NYAMTSEREN CHOINZON

NYAMTSEREN CHOINZON - One of our greatest treasures, from day one Nyamaa has been our guide, furgon driver and language tutor, wrestling coach, camel whisperer and great friend. His vast experience, thoughtfulness, fun loving attitude, interest in nature and cultural knowledge make him a hit with guests and locals alike. His favourite pastimes are laughing, singing, watching wrestling, visiting friends, and caring for his immaculate vehicle.

NYAMDORJ BAYANTOR

NYAMDORJ BAYANTOR - Nyamdorj hails from the wilds of Gobi-Altai province in South West Mongolia, and is one of our most experienced and loyal drivers. Like all our core staff, Nyamdorj gives much more to each trip than his job as driver - always on the look-out for hard-to-spot animals, his eyesight is akin to an eagle's, and his throaty singing livens up any long car journey.

TSOGTBAYAR

TSOGTBAYAR MYAGMAR - Tsogoo started driving for us at the start of summer 2007 and has proved a real asset. His cheeky-chappy grin, pride in his work, gentlemanship and enthusiasm all make for the perfect driver, and his presence enhances any trip. His distinctly higher voice complements any round of Mongolian singing, especially when combined as part of our 'driver's choir', which some of you may be lucky enough to hear when two or more trips converge. He is also a mean archer - so much so that you wonder whether his snow-leopard car-seat covers are part of a trophy from a boyhood hunting expedition.

BOLOROO

BOLORTUYA SAINKHUU - Boloroo has been managing her family's ger camp in the Gobi for a number of years, and joins our guiding team as and when she can. She has a cheerful approach to life and is a joy to be with.
